These paintings are part of a series titled “Copper Grounds” in which copper leaf is used with acrylic paint to depict textured and imagined landscapes. I live in a place with vibrant light; it penetrates the rocky forests and the tiny secret salt-water coves. It is with pure delight that I paint and scratch into these abstract landscapes. The emotion evoked by the intense light and dark of Gloucester is captured in the electrifying skies and dizzying patterns of grass and hillsides. Geometry is the grounding foundation and the resultant pictures lift me deep into this natural world. *Artwork available for sale is indicated by (*).
